Travel insurance is vital when planning for your vacation. This insurance covers you and your loved ones in trip accidents, medical expenses, trip cancellations, loss, or any interruptions that may occur during the trip. Carnival Cruise insurance is an important part when preparing for your cruise. When planning for you, you should always consider that things can change at any time. Things often do not go as planned, and you might lose a lot of money due to unforeseen events.

There are many independent travel insurance bodies, but it would also be a great idea to get the one offered by your cruise provider. If you have booked a cruise with the Carnival Cruise, you may want to consider getting the Carnival vacation protection. This guide guides you through the most common question about the cover.

What Is The Carnival Vacation Protection?

Carnival cruise line partnered with Transamerica casualty insurance company to offer the Carnival vacation protection plan. The cover is designed to protect you and your family or traveling companion with your belongings and financial investment when vacationing with them.

What Does It Cover?

The Carnival vacation protection offers three packages for your traveling insurance needs. The packages ranged from medical trip cancellation protection and evacuation coverage with worldwide assistance.

Trip Cancellation

You can cancel some trips on the Carnival Cruise without incurring additional charges. However, it is important to note that Carnival promotional trip packages come with a non-refundable policy which means you do not get a refund on cancellations.

If you want to protect yourself from losing pre-paid vacation investment, get the carnival cancellation waiver package offered by the cruise insurance program.

Medical And Emergency Assistance

Carnival vacation protection offers medical and emergency assistance cover plans, including:

  • Repatriation up to $ 30,000
  • Medical protection emergency evacuation up to $30,000
  • Sickness Medical Expenses up to $10,000
  • Accident Medical Expenses up to $10,000

It covers four main categories: emergency evacuation, medical protection, accident, repatriation, and medical expenses. It is important to note that it covers a medical condition that presents symptoms after purchasing the travel insurance cover.

Emergency Evacuation

The Carnival vacation protection covers you in case of an emergency evacuation and the transportation expense if you get injured or fall sick during the cruise. It is important to note that the doctor has to authorize it first.

It also covers you for a non-emergency evacuation in case of injury or sickness up to your residence or the hospital if the doctor seems fit. Carnival insurance also covers your transportation expenses in case of an evacuation. Also, the airfare must be at an economy-class cost. The transportation cost will also cover the cost for one person you have chosen to accompany you to the hospital.

Repatriation

The Carnival vacation protection also offers repatriation under the medical part if you die while on the cruise. The cover will reimburse up to $30,000 for transportation expenses to your residence.

Baggage Protection

Carnival baggage protection will pay up to $1,500, which applies to damage, theft, loss, and any destruction of your baggage while on the cruise. The cruise line will refund you the full receipt value of your baggage, but if you do not present a receipt, they will only pay 80% of the baggage's market value or cash value at the time of loss.

Baggage Delay

Carnival is prepared to pay $500 to buy clothing and personal effects if your luggage is delayed for more than 24 hours. Please note that your baggage will not be protected, including damage or loss due to customs confiscations, medical devices such as dental appliances, artificial teeth, contact lenses, etc. Read through the fine print to know what your travel insurance covers and doesn't.
